Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Palette and Flyliner Review

IT'S HERE. I've been pumped about this release ever since the announcement went out. AND on July 6, I went straight to the mall, sidestepped the associate at Sephora and picked up the Moroccan Spice Palette and Flyliner and headed straight to the register (after dilly-dallying and touching stuff in Sephora because how could I not?). I've had the chance to put both through the ringer and I have a lot of thoughts!

Fenty Beauty Flyliner Liquid Liner Review

First up, let's talk about this Flyliner liquid liner in the shade Cuz I'm Black. Right away, first impression, this.packaging.is.gorgeous. Fenty always comes out with GORGEOUS packaging and this Flyliner is no exception. This mirrored packaging is a definitely a magnet for fingerprints but HEY, it's impressive. The tube itself is also triangular as opposed to the usual cylindrical tubes that liners come in. The intent is that the triangular shape sits easier in the grooves of your fingers to help you gain better control of your application. Speaking of application, the felt tip is heavily saturated with the product so the lightest touch delivers product to your eye. The felt tip also goes to a teeny tiny point to help you get right on the lash line. The intent is definitely ease-of-use and precision with this product. The liquid liner also dries down matte with zero to no gloss after it's completely dried. So worth the hype? I was a little worried because when I swatched this on my arm, it feathered a little (it spread out into the tiny grooves of my skin). You can see that happening slightly in the picture here. Upon application on the eye, however, it wasn't that big of a problem. If it did happen on my eye, it was not at all noticeable. In terms of ease-of-use, the triangular shape DEFINITELY helped out a lot. Since the tube sat comfortably in my hand, I was fighting it less. And you guys know that liquid liner is already a little hard to work with if you aren't used to it so this triangle shaped definitely helped. What also helped in terms of precise application is the fact that you only need the lightest touch to get product onto your skin. This means that I didn't have to press harder and consequently getting a thicker line than I anticipated because a feather light touch lays down color. That very, very fine point tip also is great for getting at your lash line. Some liner felt tips are so thick that you can't really even see what you're doing. Flyliner's tip is so fine that you can both see what you're doing and get riiiiight up close to your lash line. And with a tip that fine, drawing on a sharp as knife cat-eye liner is easy as pie. I REALLY enjoyed this liner for its ease of use. I usually avoid liquid liners on an every day basis because it takes too much precision and finagling and I don't have time for that in a quick ten-minute makeup routine for work. But using the Flyliner is so easy, it takes not time at all so I LOVE it for that. HOWEVER, right after applying the liner, I took a mascara curler to my eyes and the curler definitely lifted off some off the liner so I had to go back and fix the patchiness. That was a little disappointing.Boy, did I test the Flyliner for lasting power today. I've had a heck of a day, guys. It rained like bonkers here in Austin. My car battery died. So on top of stressing at work, I ran around in the outside, the humid, humid outside and now, upon writing this blog, it's been 12 hours since I've had this eyeliner on. It's held up ok! It hasn't crumbled or disappeared from my eye. There are one or two tiny patches that are missing but that's me taking a mirror one centimeter from my eye. Nobody will be able to notice that. All in all, I think the Flyliner is worth the twenty bucks. I DEFINITELY can use this on an everyday basis given how easy it is to work with and it applies beautifully. That all on its own is worth the money.

Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Palette Review

THIS.IS.WHAT.I.WAS.SO.EXCITED.FOR. I LOVE eyeshadow. It's easily my favorite makeup item to use and I was so jazzed to see matte shades on a Fenty Beauty eyeshadow palette. The Galaxy Palette was gorgeous but I can't really do very much with JUST glitter. The Moroccan Spice palette focused more on neutral browns and terracotta reds that are very suitable for everyday looks. There are also elements of this palette that will allow you to take it to a nighttime look very easily. Shimmery and glittery shades will help you take your everyday look to the next level. And if you're feeling sassy, that electric blue Evil Genie shade will be a definite crowd pleaser. The packaging looks very similar to the Galaxy Palette but in a purple packaging with dramatic pink and blue clouds. The shadow comes in diamond pans similar to the Galaxy Palette. There are 16 shades in the palette featuring glitters, satins, and mattes that are inspired by the colors of Morocco and made with no parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and is cruelty free. You can find it at Sephora and the Fenty Beauty site for 59 bucks. The colors of this palette are very pigmented. One or two dips in the pan are all you need to get a great color payoff on your eye. They also blend beautifully! I've seen eyeshadow palettes where the colors just refuse to blend out and look caked in one spot and you can definitely expect the colors from this palette to blend well and work well with the other colors.I also want to make a comment about the glitters and shimmers on this palette. As much as I LOVE the colors of the Galaxy Palette, they were very hard to work with. The glitters in the Galaxy Palette just didn't stay in one place and trying to blend matte shades into it effectively removed the glitter. Basically, when I wanted to use the Galaxy Palette, I had to get my finger in there and press pretty hard or use a wet brush. The Moroccan Spice palette improved on the formulation of these glitters. I've used the glittery shades three separate times and from what I can tell, the glitters from this palette lay on the eye well, stayed in place and didn't move around, separate, and disappear when blending matte shades into them.I'm very happy with this palette. Not only is it an improvement on the first palette, the colors lend itself very easily to everyday looks.

Fenty Beauty Moroccan Spice Palette and Flyliner Liquid Liner Final Thoughts

Both the Moroccan Spice Palette and the Flyliner Liquid Liner both are good quality and I'm satisfied and happy with these purchases. I'm also really excited that I can use both on an every day basis. The liquid liner isn't perfect and I've definitely seen stronger formulations of liquid liners BUT there's no arguing that liner shape, the extreme saturation, and thin felt tip makes it a GREAT eyeliner to use.The Moroccan Spice palette is a great improvement to the first Fenty Beauty shadow palette and the colors are beautiful AS ALWAYS and definitely more suited to every day. I will definitely be using this palette more often.Did you get anything from this most recent release from Fenty Beauty? Did you like them? I'm going to love seeing the looks the girls and boys create with these products as they go forth and conquer!
