I Just Got Back From Seoul, South Korea and I Bought A Lot of Things

Hello, world and all who live in them! I have just returned from South Korea and have bought a shit ton of cosmetics. I could never do a haul with western cosmetics as they cost quite literally an arm and a leg. BUT cosmetics are quite a bit cheaper in Korea and because I was on vacation, I thought it was a little appropriate to BAALLL OUUUTT. Putting aside whether it's tacky or not to do a haul post, let's look at what I got, shall we?

What I Saw in Korea in Terms of Cosmetics Culture

The cosmetics culture in Korea is like makeup and skincare shops on steroids. South Korea is saturated with makeup and skincare brands and companies. A vast majority of them have their own boutiques, a great majority of them offer both skincare and makeup. Aside from established cosmetics brands, there are smaller ones that are offered in specialty fashion stores (like A Land and Stylenanda) and specialty cosmetics stores (like LOHBs, Olive Young, and Watsons). With so many products available, prices there for cosmetics are lower in Korea than here in the West. And because of so much competition, you'll see better and higher quality products for much cheaper than you'd find here in the West. As a simplest example, I have seen a much raved about, quality cushion foundation sold for 15,000 won (roughly 15 dollars). When have you ever seen that kind of price on a Western foundation? I've only seen that price on Western drug store brands and I've never had a good experience with those to be honest with you.The point is, whatever your price range is for cosmetics, you'll find something great in Korea. So prepare yourself. This post is LONG.

Let's Start With Skincare, Shall We?

The most important part of any makeup routine is skincare so let's start here.Heimish All Clean Balm. Heimish is a pretty new brand. The All Clean Balm is their sherbet to oil cleanser. It comes as a solid balm and as you massage it on your face, it turns into an oil. It's great for removing makeup.The Saem Urban Eco Harakeke Foam Cleanser. Harakeke is another name for the New Zealand flax plant and supposedly holds more moisture than aloe vera. This is The Saem's foaming cleanser in their Harakeke line.Mamonde Rose Water Toner. Face Toner made with 90% Damask rose water toner. Rose water has been used for soothing and hydrating.Medibeau Caviar Aloe Essence. A face AND body essence formulated with caviar and aloe vera. Caviar to provide elasticity to skin and aloe vera to provide moisture.Innisfree Orchid Eye Cream. Jeju orchids were used in this product and the formulation is touted to be anti-aging and provides smoothing and toning effects.COSRX Natural BHA Skin Returning Emulsion. BHAs are great for promoting skin cell turnover cycle and for penetrating pores to clean them out. This emulsion hydrates while helping keep pores clean.Nature Republic Aqua Super Aqua Max Combination Watery Cream. This water based cream is made from Kona Hawaiian Sea Water and provides hydration while keeping the skin healthy and glowing.SNP UV Perfect Tone Up SPF Sun Cushion. SPF product applied to the skin using fun cushion puffs. Because cushion everything.Nextcare Blemish Clear Cover. When you get a pimple, place a nifty patch over it and keep it on for hours (I like to do it overnight) and your pimple will be better after. ALTHOUGH these work a lot better if your pimple is already ready to erupt or if you've popped them and need to keep them clean.Neogen Bio Peel Gauze Peeling Wine. These exfoliation pads are formulated with resveratrol from red wine. It's a naturally exfoliating AHA. Along with the dotted exfoliation surface, this product will both manually and chemically exfoliate your face.Missha Ice Sorbet Sheet Mask. These sheet masks hydrate your skin and cool it down. Warm skin contribute to clogged pores due to higher oil production. Keeping your skin cool will help for clearer smoother skin.

Now Onto Makeup

This powder is famous for smoothing out the skin and keeping makeup in place. This special package is cuuute.Tony Moly Pikachu Mini Cushion Blusher Shade Shade 3 Peach Orange. I like angled brow pencils the best for drawing and shaping.Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer. This eye primer is famous for keeping eyeshadow in place and and vibrant.Moonshot Color Moonwalk Jelly Pot Shade P07 Mocha Martini. This jelly eyeshadow is vibrant and doesn't rub off. Also it was free with all my Moonshot purchases. Yay.Aritaum Mono Eyes Eyeshadow Shade (left to right) G6 Socialite, S27 Steampunk, G8 Modern Petal, G8 Jack Burgundy. I've been obsessed with the Aritaum Mono Eyes line for a long time. They're super pigmented and gorgeous.Son and Park True Black Eye Pen Liner. Son and Park are famous makeup artists who have made their own makeup line. This pen type eyeliner is dark and pigmented and seriously doesn't rub off.Etude House Play Color Eyes Juice Bar.
