Review of the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream

As I've gotten older, my skin has gotten more sensitive. It doesn't take a lot for my skin to react to harsh ingredients in skincare. I have friends who have sensitive skin as well and we'd all collectively like to have products without unnecessary chemicals and fragrances. Some time passes and some research later, I came across Pyunkang Yul making its rounds in the blogging and YouTubing community and I thought, WELL, let's give it a try.

What Is the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream?

Pyunkang Yul, as a brand, was started by the Pyunkang Oriental Medicine Clinic in South Korea, a clinic that is well known for treating those with atopic skin conditions- eczema in other words. Their goal in starting Pyunkang Yul is to remove gimmicky and unnecessary ingredients from skincare like fragrances and dyes and focus on giving people with sensitive skin the products they need to look and feel great.Pyunkang Yul has facial skin care as well as body lotions available for those with sensitive skin. Additionally, the brand also has an ATO line, developed SPECIFICALLY for people with eczema. One of the brand's claims is that the product is so gentle that it's safe to use on babies and children.I got excited because it's not often that I come across a brand that is all about the sensitive skinned people of the world and have thrown dyes and fragrances out the window. I grabbed the Moisture Cream (no special reason, I was running out of cream and I needed more). Upon doing some research, I found that the ingredients in the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream have all been certified by the Environmental Working Group (EWG). EWG is a nonprofit organization that evaluates the ingredients in cosmetics and shares its finding consumers. I have used their database extensively while researching makeup and skincare ingredients. The Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream has ingredients such as barberry root extract to calm skin down, shea butter for moisturization, and jojoba seed oil to prevent evaporation. The cream claims to provide rich moisturization while being mild and gentle and without stickiness and greasiness. It also claims to smooth skin and help lock in moisturization in the skin to prevent dryness. The cream also claims that its use will help bring a calming effect to flushed complexions. These are a lot of lofty claims. I was understandably a little skeptical.

Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream: Pros?

Let's start where it hurts first: the wallet. If you head over to Stylekorean, you'll expect to pay $32 dollars for the Moisture Cream. If you head to Amazon, the price is at $18. You can guess where I got mine from. For eighteen bucks (or thirty-two if that's what you did or going to do), you'll get a good size jar and 100 ml worth of cream product. For all the claims it was making, I don't find this price bad at all (the eighteen bucks not the thirty-two).Upon receiving the product, indeed there are no fragrances or dyes listed. I stuck my whole entire nose in that jar and could not detect any fragrances at all. This was a good start. Digging in to the product, I WAS a little concerned that it felt a little thick. I am not a big fan of feeling like there was a lot of gunk on my face and thicker creams tend to do that. However, I was pleasantly surprised that while the cream was rich, it didn't feel greasy or just sitting on top of my skin refusing to do any work. It sank into the skin and my skin felt moisturized and soft. It didn't leave a greasy feeling at all and after application didn't feel very heavy. It's been a month since I've started using the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream and I have seen a marked difference in my skin's hydration. I have dry patches randomly on my face like in the area around my nose. It's especially noticeable if I don't moisturize enough before makeup. Ever since using the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream, I've not seen dry patches and that is good news!I've also not experienced any sensitivity while using the product. It's actually HELPED soothe some skin issues I have been having.Favorite points definitely is the fact that it provides rich hydration which my skin eats up. An hour later, my skin doesn't feel like a dry desert again. It still feels well moisturized but not sticky. I'm definitely impressed.

Cons: Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream

I am trying REALLY hard to find some cons to this cream but can't think of any. There have been many a cream that had way too much fragrance or was way too rich and didn't sink into the skin at all or left the skin feeling greasy. The Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream does none of this. There are no artificial fragrances, it is a rich cream but never greasy, and sinks into the skin and prevents evaporation so the skin reaps all the benefits of the cream.I've thoroughly enjoyed this cream and cannot think of anything bad to say.

Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream

Using the Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream has been great. My skin feels hydrated and healthy and HOORAY it didn't break me out. I cannot wait to try more from Pyunkang Yul. I cannot recommend Pyunkang Yul and the Moisture Cream enough especially to those with sensitive skin or atopic skin conditions. Try it out and go forth and conquer!
