Heimish All Clean Balm: A Comprehensive Review

Hey, guys! Is everyone having a super fun Labor Day holiday. If you’re not American (like most of the world isn’t), are you having a terrific funeral for the weekend past? I have done mini reviews of the Heimish All Clean Balm here and there before. I’ve talked a little bit about it on my Instagram, for example. Now that I’ve used used it for a while now, I feel the self important need to review it here!

What is the Hemish All Clean Balm?

Heimish is started by some neat folks in Korea and as a skincare/makeup brand, they’re actually pretty new. The All Clean Balm is a sherbet oil cleanser used to take off makeup or as the first step in double cleansing. It comes as a solid and as you work it onto your face, it turns into an oil that gently lifts off makeup and sunscreen. If you’ve used the Banila Co. Clean It Zero, it’s the same principle. We’ll get to the Banila Co comparison later. All Clean Balm comes in a sturdy pink and white plastic packaging and comes with 120 ml of product. Upon opening the tub, there is a spatula holder layer, and under it is the balm itself. The balm is formulated with uber fun things like shea butter, donkey milk, coconut, lime, freesia, jasmine, Asian lily, edelweiss, and rose extracts. It is also formulated with all sorts of fun essential oils like eucalyptus and tea tree oils.Expect an earthen, medicine-ey smell to the balm but from my experience, the smell doesn’t linger on the skin. There are many products that leave the smell on your face forever until you die and are rotting on the ground.

The Good Things? The Good Things?

All Clean Balm is formulated with all sorts of amazing things for you. Can we just get that long list of floral extracts again? Freesia, jasmine, Asian lily, edelweiss, and rose OH MY. Not to mention all the great essential oils it is formulated with as well. With all this goodness, you can expect this balm to be super moisturizing for your skins. In terms of its ability to remove makeup from the face, it is AMAZEBALLS. There has never been a makeup of mine that it has failed to remove. Be it waterproof or run of the mill foundations or eyeshadows, all of it comes off pretty easily. Also I’d like to mention that there is a separate container in the tub for the spatula and if you’re a devout spatula user like me, you will find this a godsend. Spatulas exist so that you don’t have to dig your grubby nails and fingers in that balm and get it all nasty and germy and having a separate area for the spatula is great. This comes with 120 ml and I bought this at the end of May and I use it pretty much every day. Considering it’s September now, and I’m only halfway done. That’s cost effective, if you ask me.

Bad Things? Bad Things?

To be honest, I find very little faults with this balm. I have reviewed a handful of balms and there are those that are exceedingly oily and the oils just refuse to get off your face and it’s a horrible mess. There are balms that don’t really get makeup off the face so it’s super useless, really. This balm is really effective and it’s great. The only gripe I have with this balm is that the smell is real noticeable. I wouldn’t say that it’s too much but just stronger than most that I’m used to. It’s an herbal-ey and medicine-ey smell but like I said before, the smell doesn’t linger on the skin. Also be sure to store this balm in a cool environment. Otherwise, you’ll run the risk of your balm melting and turning into a liquidy mess.

How Does It Compare With The Banila Co Clean It Zero?

I’ve done a review on the Banila Co Clean it Zero and you can read it HERE. If you go back, you’ll see that I did enjoy the Clean It Zero and if you were going to make a foray into sherbet oil cleanser game, Clean It Zero is a good place to start and the original is super price friendly at around sixteen dollars. The All Clean Balm is a little bit more expensive but REMEMEBER: it comes with 120 ml while the normal size of The Clean It Zero only comes with 100 ml.The biggest point of contention for me is actually the ingredients each balm is made of. All Clean Balm is made of all natural ingredients that are super great for your skins. It’s also worth noting that Clean It Zero has parabens in it. The only iteration of Clean It Zero that doesn’t have parabens is the Purity version.Parabens are commonly used as additives in cosmetics to keep it from developing fungus, bacteria, and other gross things on your products. It’s been linked to cancer and there have been studies that suggest very damning things when it comes to parabens. This is why you’re starting to see a lot of makeup and skincare boast “paraben free” nowadays. The All Clean Balm is made with no parabens so in that respect, it definitely wins. I’m not saying parabens are definitely a bad thing or definitely not a bad thing but it’s worth noting if that sort of thing matters to you.

Do You Recommend The All Clean Balm?

DEFINITELY. To be honest, I love both The Clean It Zero and The All Clean Balm. I would use both equally. But if you held a gun to my head and made me choose which I prefer, I would probably pick The All Clean Balm. It’s formulated with natural ingredients, it comes with more product, and it doesn’t have parabens. I’m really tempted not to try any more oil cleansers because honestly both The Clean It Zero and The All Clean Balm are great. Maybe if another brand comes out with their own, I’ll try that. But anyway, I hope you guys found this information useful and you GO FORTH AND CONQUER, YOU BEAUTIFUL FREAKING HUMAN YOU!
